  • Equality of Opportunity Screening Form Assisted Rural Travel Scheme 2024/25

    Date published: 23 May 2024

The Assisted Rural Travel Scheme (ARTS) is a discounted travel scheme available to members of Rural Community Transport Partnerships (Partnerships) on Dial-a-Lift services.

The Scheme offers travel discounts to members of Partnerships who hold a valid SmartPass which is equivalent to what the individual would be eligible for on mainstream public transport services. The policy intent was to address a low uptake and usage of SmartPasses in rural areas by offering an equivalent travel concession to the passenger on community transport to that which is available on mainstream public transport. Through this travel concession ARTS aims to contribute positively to tackling rural poverty and social isolation.

This form considers the equality impacts of funding of £560k for 2024/25.
