Consultation Reponses Report: Developer Contributions for Wastewater Infrastructure

This consultation summary report provides a high-level strategic analysis of the responses to the public consultation.
The consultation ran from 21 March to 27 June 2025: 293 responses were received.
The consultation sought views on whether and, if so, how DfI should introduce developer contributions to help fund necessary improvements to NI Water’s wastewater infrastructure. It provided an opportunity for everyone to express their views about the principle of developer contributions and their potential to help bridge the funding gap which currently exists.
The evidence gathered through the consultation process and summarised in the consultation responses report is helping to inform the next steps to be taken to progress the Department’s policy on developer contributions for wastewater infrastructure.
