We are in the process of appointing experienced individuals to conduct independent examinations of local development plan documents, as well as public local inquiries and hearings in relation to the consideration of regionally significant and called‑in planning applications.

With dedicated public sector funding, this project provides an excellent opportunity for you to work independently, consider and assess complex evidence and make recommendations that shape the places where people live and work. 

Whether you’re a planning professional or have a qualification in other relevant fields such as law, surveying, civil engineering or architecture, your expertise could be exactly what we need.

Current Position

The initial application process has now closed and the Department is currently assessing the applications received.
