    Date published: 3 February 2017

The Department for Infrastructure has confirmed that a £150,000 road improvement scheme will commence on Monday 13 February at Kingsmill Road, Whitecross in Co. Armagh.

    Resurfacing work

The works will enhance the safety of the junction of the Kingsmills and Drumnahunshin Roads by improving junction visibility and forward visibility on the Kingsmill Road.

The work will involve removing a crest on the Kingsmill Road close to the junction. The road will also be widened and a verge will be provided along the length of the scheme. Three hundred metres of road will be resurfaced on conclusion of these necessary works.

The work will take approximately eight weeks to complete.

To ensure the safety of road users and contractors, it will be necessary to close the road from 20 February 2017 for a period of seven weeks. Signed diversions will be in operation throughout this time.

TransportNI has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.

The above planned scheme is subject to favourable weather conditions, for information about this and other improvement schemes across the North visit: www.trafficwatchni.com.
