Work to provide a new Puffin controlled pedestrian crossing and some carriageway resurfacing at Main Street, Hilltown has commenced.
The new controlled Puffin crossing will improve road safety for pedestrians, in particular vulnerable road users such as children, the elderly and those with a disability and is due to be completed by the end of February.
Traffic management will be in place to ensure the works are carried out safely and road users are urged to take extra care.
Puffin crossings are relatively new in Northern Ireland and information on their use is available to view at: https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/puffin-crossing
