    Date published: 6 February 2017

The Department for Infrastructure has announced that work on the resurfacing scheme on the A2 Minerstown Road, Killough will commence on Monday 13 February 2017.

    Raking whilst resurfacing a footway

The scheme will involve the resurfacing of a 1 kilometre stretch of the A2 Minerstown Road between the Ballylucas Road and Bright Road junctions.

To facilitate the scheme a temporary road closure will be in place from 8.00 am and 6.00 pm, Monday to Saturday, from 13 February 2017 to Saturday 1 April 2017.

During the road closures a diversion route will be signed with traffic being diverted via A2 Clanmaghery Road/Tyrella Road/Blackstaff Road, A24 Main Street, A25 Downpatrick Road/Ballydugan Road/Market Street, St Patrick’s Avenue, B176 Killough Road/Downpatrick Road and A2 Main Street/Chapel Street/Rossglass Road.

TransportNI aims to keep disruptions to a minimum, however, delays should be expected and drivers are asked to be patient and allow additional time when planning journeys in the area whilst the road improvements are being carried out.

With all work of this nature extreme weather can impact on the completion date. TransportNI will advise the public of any unexpected change to the schedule.
