    Date published: 18 July 2017

A £180,000 road improvement scheme on the A22 Comber Road, Killyleagh is due to commence on Monday 24 July 2017.

    Raking whilst resurfacing a footway

The scheme will involve drainage works and the resurfacing of a 1.1km stretch of the A22 Comber Road from the Tullymanous Road junction.

To facilitate the works a temporary road closure will be in place between 9.00 am and 4.30 pm daily from Monday 24 July 2017 to Friday 18 August 2017. The road will remain open overnight and at weekends.

The diversion route will be clearly signed with traffic being diverted via Saintfield, Ballygowan and Comber using Frederick Street, B7 Shrigley Road, B6 Clealough Road/Manse Road/Killyleagh Road/Station Road/Todd’s Hill, A7 Belfast Road, A21 Ballygowan Road/Saintfield Road/Comber Road /Ballygowan Road/Braeside/High Street/Killinchy Street and A22 Killinchy Road/Comber Road/Killyleagh Road.

The Department aims to keep disruption to a minimum, however, delays should be expected and drivers are asked to be patient and allow additional time when planning journeys in the area whilst the road improvements are being carried out.

The dates and duration of the works will be dependent on the progress of the scheme and on favourable weather conditions.
