£100,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme for A26 Glenavy Road, Lisburn

Glenavy Road, Lisburn will benefit from a £100,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme which is due to commence on Friday 6 March 2020.

The scheme extends from Magheramesk Lane in a southerly direction towards the railway bridge and should be fully completed within 10 days.

To facilitate the work it will be necessary to implement a series of road and lane closures for the duration of the works.

Full overnight road closures will be in place on Friday 6 March and Saturday 7 March from 7.00 pm until 10.00 am and again on Friday 13 March and Saturday 14 March from 7.00 pm until 10.00 am. During these times a diversionary route will be in place using Moira roundabout, A3 Moira Road, Knockmore Road, Prince William Road, Ballymacash Road, A30 Glenavy Road and A26 Moira Road to accommodate traffic in both directions.

In addition a lane closure will operate on Monday 9 March and Tuesday 10 March between the hours of 9.30 am and 4.00 pm.

To help ensure the safety of road users and road workers the public is asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions and to exercise care when travelling through, or in the vicinity of, the works.

Completion of the scheme by 15 March 2020 will be subject to favourable weather conditions however the Department will keep the public informed of any change.
