  • Kimmins announces £180,000 road improvement scheme for B4 Lack Main Street

    Date published: 7 November 2025

Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has announced that a £180,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme on the B4 Lack Main Street will commence on Monday 10 November 2025.

The proposed scheme will include 500 metres of full width resurfacing of Main Street between C407 Tedd Road and U9014 Kilsmullan Road, plus additional substructure patching to strengthen the carriageway at various locations.

    Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said:

“This substantial investment of £180,000 for Lack Village will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users and demonstrates my commitment to improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents, local businesses and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out.”

To facilitate the safe delivery of the scheme, it will be necessary to implement a road closure on B4 Lack Main Street from C407 Tedd Road Junction to U9014 Kilsmullan Road, between 09.30 am and 4.30 pm daily, for a three-week period commencing on Monday 10th November 2025.

During this time traffic will be diverted through Dromore and Irvinestown via the A32 Clanabogan Road, A32 Omagh Road, A32 Old Creamery Road, A32 Tummery Road, A32 Dromore Road, U6006 Bridge Street, B72 Manoo Road, B4 Letterboy Road, B4 Church Road and vice-versa.

The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience. However, while steps have been taken to accommodate local access throughout the scheme, road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works and are asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions.

Subject to favourable weather conditions, the works will be substantially complete by Friday 28 November 2025, however the Department will keep the public informed of any change.
