Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard has announced that a £185,000 major resurfacing scheme on the A42 Mayogall Road, Clady is now underway.
The resurfacing works extends a distance of approximately 1.3 kilometres from its junction with Ballymacpeake Road to its junction with Ford Road. The work is expected to be completed on Friday 27 January 2017.
The Minister said:
“This significant investment will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this busy road and address ongoing maintenance problems associated with the road. It will benefit the local community for many years to come.”
Given the existing alignment of this section of the Mayogall Road, and in order to complete the works as quickly as possible, a four day road closure for through traffic is required for the entirety of the works from Tuesday 24 January 2017 to Friday 27 January 2017.
During the road closure through traffic will be diverted via Bellaghy and Portglenone. Advanced warning signage for the closure has been provided. Local access will be maintained at all times and school buses will be facilitated in the morning and afternoon where possible.
The above planned closure is subject to favourable weather conditions and TransportNI will keep the public informed of any change.
TransportNI has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, however motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
