This news item is to advise that Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA), an Agency of the Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs (DAERA) has updated information and survey data relevant to the determination of the consent and abstraction applications currently under consideration as part of the Conjoined Dalradian Public Local Inquiry.

NIEA have sought to share this with the Planning Appeals Commission (PAC), but it is understood this has not been accepted by the PAC. Nevertheless NIEA have decided to make this information publicly available on their website https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/articles/public-inquiry-dalradian-goldmine-applications-discharge-consent-and-abstraction-impoundment-licence under the title “NIEA Updates”. The updated information is listed in the document index available to view at the following link: https://www.daera-ni.gov.uk/publications/public-inquiry-dalradian-goldmine-applications-discharge-consent-and-abstraction-impoundment-licence-document-index

The Department for Infrastructure is committed to openness and transparency throughout the Public Local Inquiry process. Accordingly, the NIEA information can also be accessed via the Department’s inquiry website via the following link: https://www.infrastructure-ni.gov.uk/articles/dalradian-project-other-applicationsconsents-public-local-inquiry#toc-1 .

By providing access to this material, the Department seeks to ensure that all parties involved in the inquiry have equal access to the same information, supporting a fair and transparent process in sufficient time to be able to consider it before the inquiry resumes on date 13 April 2026.
