    Date published: 20 May 2016

TransportNI has announced that road improvements are now underway on A505 Barony Road, Omagh.

    Lane closure during resurfacing work

Work on the £175,000 resurfacing scheme is ongoing Monday to Friday between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm. Work is expected to be complete by Friday 27 May.

The improvements will increase the strength and surface quality of this strategic route between Omagh and Cookstown and help resolve ongoing maintenance issues associated with the road.

To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors a road closure will be in place from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm from Wednesday 25 May to Friday 27 May. Diversions will be in place via:

    • B46 Creggan Road
    • U1722 Hazelhill Road
    • B4 Termon Road
    • B4 Cavanakerran Road
    • B4 Main Street Pomery
    • B4 Edendoit Road
    • B4 Tullyreavy Road
    • Pomeroy Road

As with all improvement schemes of this type the scheduled dates are subject to favourable weather conditions.

TransportNI has planned the works and traffic management arrangements to minimise any inconvenience, however, drivers should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the area.
