    Date published: 9 February 2024

The A3 Portadown Road, Armagh resurfacing and widening scheme is progressing and moving into the next phase which will require resurfacing of the road.

Whilst work has been undertaken maintaining one lane in each direction, to facilitate the safe delivery of the scheme it will be necessary to implement a full road closure over a number of weekends. The dates for these and the number of closures will depend on progress and the weather. However, the first two planned closures are on:

    • From 20:00 on Saturday 17 February to 06:00 on Monday 19 February 2024.
    • From 20:00 on Saturday 24 February to 06:00 on Monday 26 February 2024.

During these times a signed diversionary route will be in place via Richhill and Hamiltonsbawn and vice versa. Local access within the extent of the works will be facilitated. Drivers should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time for their journey.

Any changes to the programmed dates will be advertised on the TrafficWatchni website.
