    Summary

    The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Prohibition of Waiting (Schools) Order (Northern Ireland) 2020.

    Consultation description

    The Order will prohibit vehicles waiting:

    between 8.30 am to 9.15 am and 1.30 pm to 3.15 pm on lengths of:

    • Church Road, Ballymena at Gracehill Primary School;
    • Main Road, Glynn at Glynn Primary School and
    • Moyard Gardens, Greenisland at Silverstream Primary School and

    between 8.30 am to 9.15 am and 1.45 pm to 3.15 pm on a length of ​​​​

    • ​Glenburn Park, Bangor at Ballyholme Primary School.

    All prohibitions will operate Monday to Friday inclusive between 31 August and 30 June.

    Vehicles are excepted from the prohibitions in certain circumstances.

    The Order will also revoke certain existing prohibitions on lengths of School Road, Belfast at the former Newtownbreda Primary School and Blackcave North, Larne at the former Corran Integrated Primary School as well as revoke and re-enact other existing prohibitions that are in place at entrances to other schools.

    Inspecting the proposals

    Full details are contained in the draft Order which together with maps showing the roads involved may be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period below at the Department's addresses as follows:

    During the current Covid-19 restrictions, access to these buildings is limited and inspection of the draft Order and maps is by appointment only which can be arranged either by email using dfiroads.northern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk for the schools in Ballymena, Larne and Greenisland, tninddownpatrick@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk for the school in Bangor and traffic.eastern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk for the school in Belfast or by telephone during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) on 0300 200 7899.

    Making an objection

    Any person may object or make other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, by writing to the Department at the addresses above or by emailing dfiroads.northern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk or tninddownpatrick@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk or traffic.eastern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk before 12 October 2020.
