Parking Places – Disabled Persons’ Vehicles

Summary

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Parking Places (Disabled Persons’ Vehicles) (Amendment No. 5) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024.

Consultation description

The Order will create parking places with unlimited waiting at:

  • Ballyronan: O’Neill Park in a parking area to the rear of No. 10;
  • Belfast: Andersonstown Park South in front of No. 10, Cambrai Street in a lay-by in front of No. 81, Cliftonville Road in a lay-by in front of No. 162, Edenvale Grove in a parking area in front of No. 1; Grace Avenue in front of No. 91, Innisfayle Gardens in front of No. 27, Joanmount Gardens in front of No. 123, Knock Green in a parking area in front of No. 24, Knock Grove in a lay-by opposite No. 17, Lancefield Road in front of No. 13, Old Holywood Road in a lay-by in front of No. 162/164, Rossnareen Avenue in a lay-by in front of No. 15, Snugville Street in a lay-by in front of No. 36 and St James’s Road in front of No. 14;
  • Derry/Londonderry: Francis Street in front of No. 51;
  • Downpatrick: Thomas Russell Park in front of No. 7;
  • Dromore, County Tyrone: Fairview Gardens to the side of No. 12;
  • Irvinestown: Lisnarick Road in a lay-by in front of St Paul’s Primary School;
  • Loughbrickland: Scarva Street in front of No. 21 (Loughbrickland Clinic);
  • Newcastle: Ballaghbeg Park in a parking area to the side of No. 60;
  • Newry: Barcroft Park in a parking area to the rear of No. 189, James Connolly Park to the side of No. 5, John Mitchel Street in front of No 11 and Mountain View Park in front of No. 21;
  • Sion Mills: Garvan Road in a lay-by in front of No. 6;
  • Newtownards: Victoria Avenue in front of No. 47 and William Street in front of No. 65;
  • Warrenpoint: Slieve Foy Place to the side of No. 13 Seaview.

The Order will also create parking places with waiting limited to 2 hours Monday to Saturday between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm with no return to a parking place for 1 hour at Belfast: Upper Newtownards Road in a lay-by in front of No. 324 and in a service road in front of No. 380 (2 bays).

All parking places are for the use of disabled persons’ vehicles only.
