    Summary

    TRAFFIC CALMING SCHEME
    ISLAND STREET, BELFAST
    Notice is hereby given that under ‘Article 65’ of the ‘Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993’ the Department for Infrastructure proposes the installation of traffic calming measures on Island Street, Belfast to control the speed of traffic. To include 6No. twin speed cushions on Island Street and 1No. flat top road hump at the junction of Island Street/Medley Street.

    Consultation description

    The works will consist of:
    • 1 No flat top road hump, 8.75m long, kerb to kerb width and 50mm in height
    • 6 No of twin speed cushions, 3.1m long, 1.9m wide and 75mm high
    All road humps will be constructed in accordance with The ‘Road Humps Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999’. All road markings and signage will be in accordance with the ‘Traffic Signs Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997’.

    Inspecting the proposal
    Full details showing the proposed road layout may be inspected free of charge during office hours within the period below at DfI Roads Eastern Division, Active Travel, Hydebank House, 4a Hospital Road, Belfast, BT8 8JL.
    Access to this building is limited and inspection of the traffic calming proposal is by appointment only which can be arranged either by email using activetravel.eastern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk or by telephone during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) on 0300 200 7899. Details can also be viewed online at www.infrastructure-ni.gov.uk/consultations
