Experimental Traffic Control Scheme - Union Street, Belfast - first six months

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made The Experimental Traffic Control Scheme – Prohibition of Traffic – Union Street, Belfast, for a period of 6 months, which comes into operation on 11 June 2021.


Consultation description

The scheme will prohibit vehicles from using Union Street, Belfast from its junction with Little Donegall Street to its junction with Donegall Street. 

The Department will consider in due course whether the provisions of the scheme should continue indefinitely.

Within a period of 6 months from 11 June 2021 any person may object to the making of a traffic regulation order for the purpose of continuing the provisions of the scheme in force indefinitely.

Any such objection or other representation must be made in writing to the Department at the address below or by emailing traffic.eastern@infrastructure-ni.giv.uk stating the grounds of objection.
