    This report presents statistics on public transport operated by Translink in Northern Ireland and it brings together information on public transport journeys, vehicles and staff.
    This is an official statistics report produced by the Analysis, Statistics and Research Branch (ASRB) of the Department for Infrastructure (DfI).

    Our statistical practice is regulated by the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR).

    OSR has completed its assessment of Public Transport Statistics, Northern Ireland. 

    The assessment report is available on the OSR website.

    OSR has confirmed these statistics comply with the standards of Trustworthiness, Quality and Value in the Code of Practice for Statistics and the Public Transport Statistics due to be published in September 2025 will be labelled accredited official statistics.

    OSR set out two requirements to be addressed for these statistics to become accredited official statistics.

    User Engagement

    Analysis, Statistics and Research Branch (ASRB) within the Department carried out a user engagement in relation to the content and format Public Transport Statistics Northern Ireland publication. The engagement ran from 6th June 2023 to 4th July 2023 and an outcome summary has now been released.
