Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) may be used to protect trees, groups of trees or woodlands, which add to the character and appearance of an area.


This leaflet is intended to provide advice for tree owners, conservation groups and the general public on protected trees. It has been prepared for guidance only and should not be taken as an authoritative statement of the law.
