This guidance relates to various matters pertaining to the policies and standards to be used to ensure that the reduced staffing resource available for road maintenance is used most effectively. The standards help to ensure consistency of approach when determining the frequency of inspection to be undertaken and help to ensure that the road network remains safe whilst providing a consistent level of service across Northern Ireland.
