Proposed new Water, Flooding, and Sustainable Drainage legislation – Extended Hosepipe Ban powers - Screening Form

Providing NI Water stronger powers to manage water shortages; This proposal seeks to provide NI Water with wider powers to tackle water shortages by increasing the number of areas for which it can restrict the use of a hosepipe beyond the watering of a private garden or washing of a private car. Having additional powers to restrict the filling or swimming pools, ornamental fountains, and the power-washing of pavements will help reduce water consumption during times of high-demand.
