Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment for NI (PFRA)

The European Directive on the Assessment and Management of Flood Risks (2007/60/EC) came into force on 26 November 2007 and was transposed into local legislation by The Water Environment (Floods Directive) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009. Article 4 of the Directive requires that each member state undertakes a Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment (PFRA) for their respective territories by 22 December 2011.
