The Department has made a Statutory Rule entitled The Parking Places on Roads and Waiting Restrictions (Newry) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015 (S.R. 2015 No. 270) which comes into operation on 29 June 2015.

Details

The rule will introduce –

  • a parking place on a length of Merchants Quay between the hours 8.30 am to 6.15 pm Monday to Saturday, with parking limited to 1 hour and return to the parking place prohibited until 1 hour has expired
  • a parking place on a length of Merchants Quay between the hours 8.30 am to 6.15 pm Monday to Saturday, with parking limited to 2 hours, and return to the parking place prohibited until 3 hours have expired
  • ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions on lengths of Buttercrane Quay and Merchants Quay (loading and unloading permitted)
  • 'no waiting' restrictions on lengths of Buttercrane Quay, and Merchants Quay between the hours 8.30 am to 6.15 pm Monday to Saturday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted)

The order will also revoke and re-enact existing Parking Places on Basin Walk, Bridge Street, Lower Water Street, St Mary’s Street and Trevor Hill and Waiting Restrictions on Abbey Way, Boat Street, Bridge Street, Canal Quay, Catherine Street, Chequer Hill, Cronin Park, Dominican Court, Drumalane Road, Glen Hill, Hospital Road, James Connolly Park, Kiln Street, Patrick Street, Plunkett Street, Pool Lane, Sandy Street and Wood Hill, Newry.

Vehicles are excepted from the restrictions in certain circumstances.
