Emergency Covid Support package for George Best Belfast City Airport (BCA) and City of Derry Airport (CoDA) - Screening Form

The support was to enable the BCA to continue to maintain services for passengers on the Belfast - London Heathrow route operated by Aer Lingus during the Covid pandemic.

The support was also to enable the CoDA to continue to maintain services for passengers on the Derry City - London Stansted Public Service Obligation (PSO) route operated by Loganair during the Covid pandemic.

(In order to maintain appropriate scheduled air services on routes which are vital for the economic development of the region they serve, the government can impose Public Service Obligations (PSO) on these).

These were both considered by the Department for Transport and the Executive to be critical routes to support connectivity.
