DFI/2023-0351: An Environmental Information Regulations 2004 request for details of policy guidance & training provided to Department for Infrastructure (DfI) staff, on: 1) dealings with developers/agents on proposed or actual planning applications; 2) discussing matters not directly within DfI's remit; 3) planning policy training provided in the last 5 years; 4) management policies for staff performance & training needs; 5) discussions or contacts about potential divestment of land assets; 6) handling third party requests for the sale or leasing of land assets; 7) handling any requests that might require the future divestment of land assets for the planning application to succeed; 8) any DfI liability for developers' costs following preliminary discussions where divesting land assets was not mentioned; 9) the number of times in the last 5 years DfI has divested land for private developments, the quantity of lands, & any income generated; 10) the number of car parks divested in the last 5 years to enable creation of an access road, & any remaining public liability resting with DfI, & how liability was considered; 11) any requirements for public consultation as part of DfI decision making around land divestment; & 12) any staff guidance discussions with developers, etc., about land assets in the Lagan Valley Regional Park, or Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or Sites of Local Nature Conservation Importance.
