Tillysburn Park and Ride - consultation

Summary

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) is proposing to build a Park and Ride facility incorporating approximately 520 spaces as part of advanced works to improve public transport options for commuters during the proposed York Street Interchange construction works.

The site is located on lands at Tillysburn, bounded by the A2 Sydenham Bypass and the Holywood Road, to the north of the Harland and Wolff Welders Football and Social Club, Belfast BT4.

The Department intends to seek planning approval for the proposed Park and Ride as a “major” development.  The Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 places a statutory duty on applicants to consult the community prior to submitting a planning application for a “major” development.

Further details of the proposals will be provided at the planned Open House event and public exhibition, details of which are provided below.

As part of the pre-application community consultation process an ‘Open House’ public consultation event has been arranged to take place on:

  • Monday 12 March 2018 from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm at Tesco Extra Community Space, Tesco Extra, Knocknagoney Rd, Belfast, BT4 2PW

The proposed scheme will also be put on public exhibition at:

  • Holywood Arches Library, 4-12 Holywood Road, Belfast BT4 1NT from Thursday 8 March to Wednesday 9 May 2018.

Feedback sheets and post-boxes will be provided at the ‘Open House’ and Public Exhibition events to enable individuals to submit their comments about the proposed Park & Ride.
