    Consultation description

    The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) acts as the Rail Safety Authority (RSA) and train driver licensing authority for Northern Ireland and is responsible for ensuring railway operators’ compliance with the Train Driver Licence and Certificates Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010, (as amended).

    The Department is now undertaking a post implementation review of the operation and implementation of the Train Driving Licence and Certificates Regulations 2010 (TDLCR) to assess whether the regulations remain fit for purpose and are achieving their original objectives. 

    Views and comments are sought from those involved with operation of TDLCR to identify any potential amendments or adjustments which may be required for any new legislation in this area. Comments on the proposed Regulations should be made in writing and may be forwarded electronically via e mail or alternatively, via post to the addresses below.
