    Summary

    The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Parking Places (Disabled Persons’ Vehicles) (Amendment No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024.

    Consultation description

    The Order will create parking places with unlimited waiting at:

    • Belfast: Cliftonville Road in a lay-by in front of No. 100 (Apartment No. 2) and Cliftonville Road in a lay-by in front of No. 178 (Re-Advertisement), Duncairn Gardens in front of No. 236, Heath Lodge Avenue in front of No. 18 and Mount Vernon Park in front of No. 63;
    • Carrickfergus: The Hollies opposite No. 22;
    • Irvinestown: Hudson Heights in a parking area in front of No. 30;
    • Londonderry: Coshowen in a parking area opposite No. 29 and to the side of No. 29 (2 bays), Elaghmore Park in a parking area in front of No. 53 (Re-Advertisement) and Marlborough Road in front of No. 2 and No. 23 (2 bays);
    • Sion Mills: New Street in front of No. 40;
    • Strabane: Meenashesk Place in a parking area in front of No. 12 and Newtownkennedy Street in front of No. 19.

    The Order will also create a parking place with limited waiting Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 6.00 pm with waiting limited to 2 hours with no return to a parking place for 1 hour at Belfast: Oldpark Road in a lay-by in front of No. 462 (Dentists Surgery).

    All parking places are for the use of disabled persons’ vehicles only.

    The Order will remove parking places with unlimited waiting at:

    • Belfast: Bloomfield Avenue in front of No. 103;
    • Holywood: Firmount Crescent in front of No. 71.

    Inspection of the draft Order is by appointment only which can be arranged either by e-mail using the relevant office e-mail address above or by telephone during office hours (Mon to Fri 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) on 0300 200 7899.
