The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Parking and Waiting Restrictions (Belfast) (Amendment No. 3) Order (Northern Ireland) 2021.

Consultation description

The Order will—

  • authorise lengths of Holywood Road for use as parking places and prescribe the conditions under which they may be used. Between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Saturday inclusive, parking will be limited to 1 hour with return to the parking place prohibited until 1 hour has expired;
  • authorise a length of Lockview Road for use as a parking place and prescribe the conditions under which it may be used. Between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Friday inclusive, parking will be limited to 1 hour with return to the parking place prohibited until 1 hour has expired;
  • authorise lengths of Henry Place for use as parking places and prescribe the conditions under which they may be used. Between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Friday inclusive, parking will be limited to 2 hours with return to a parking place prohibited until 1 hour has expired;
  • authorise a length of Stranmillis Embankment for use as a parking place and prescribe the conditions under which it may be used. Between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Saturday inclusive, parking will be limited to 4 hours with return to the parking place prohibited until 2 hours have expired;
  • introduce a no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of Barrack Street, Beechlands, Bethany Street, Coolfin Street, Coolmore Street, Daphne Street, Durham Court, Egeria Street, Fortuna Street, Friendly Street, Gardiner Place, Holywood Road, Lucerne Parade, Orby Street, Thalia Street, The Cutts and University Square Mews;
  • introduce a no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading not permitted) on lengths of Antrim Road, Boucher Crescent and North Howard Street;
  • introduce a no waiting restriction between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Saturday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on a length of Durham Street;
  • introduce a no waiting restriction between 8.00 am and 6.30 pm Monday to Friday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of The Cutts;
  • introduce a no waiting restriction between 8.30 am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of Wolff Close; and
  • introduce a no waiting restriction between 9.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Friday inclusive (loading and unloading not permitted) on a length of Fane Street.

      All in the City of Belfast.

Vehicles are excepted from the restrictions in certain circumstances.
