DFI/2021-0251: Environmental Information Regulations 2004 request for details of DfI Roads & Rivers decisions & actions regarding the culverting of the Silverstream River as part of the A2 Greenisland Dual Carriageway Road Improvement Scheme, including: 1) whether the River is a designated watercourse & any provisions for flooding; 2) any technical/financial reasons for retaining the existing brick arch bridge; 3) provisions made for road noise; 4) street lighting pollution; 5) reasons for retaining the existing watercourse; 6) any investigations or feasibility studies carried out; 7) any consultations; 8) the maintenance work carried out; 9) the reasons for the removal of the screen at the arch bridge; 10) copies of any flooding/maintenance call out record logs; 11) any issues identified associated with urban creep within the catchment area; 12) any river improvement works carried out upstream; 13) any discharge consents granted by DfI Rivers; 14) a copy of the DfI Roads Flood Risk Assessment; 15) a copy of any consent issued by NIEA; 16) the extent of discharge arising from the A2; 17) details of any planned future works; 18) the reasoning behind the dimensions chosen for the box culvert, in terms of potential flow; 19) the relative hydraulic carrying capacities of the new culvert and watercourse; & 20) whether DfI can confirm that increased flow will not damage adjoining properties.
