Details

I request the Department provides specific and detailed expert estimates of shift in demand/ displacement and any economic appraisals it referred to, carried out or commissioned in relation to the hourly train service between Derry-Londonderry and Belfast which the Department/Translink introduced in July 2017

In particular, I request a copy of the "detailed brief" referred to within the first paragraph of a letter from Deputy Secretary, John McGrath to Translink CEO, Chris Conway dated 28 February 2017.

I note that within the letter the Deputy Secretary thanked the Translink CEO for providing a detailed brief setting out Translink’s proposals and went on to advise that having considered the [detailed brief] proposals, the Minister felt able to confirm go-ahead for the hourly service and confirm the provision of the extra £1.44m of public purse subsidy in the form of increasing the annual PSO.
