DfI/2019-0102: FOI Request for information on taxi vehicles and licensed taxi operators

In accordance with Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (Act) and/or in the alternative under Section 5 of the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (Regulations) we wish to request the following information from the Driver and Vehicle Agency relating to taxi driver and operator licenses in Northern Ireland:

1) the total number of vehicle taxi licences in Northern Ireland;

2) the total number of vehicle taxi licences, broken down by vehicle class of licence;

3) confirmation of the number of licensed taxi operators;

4) confirmation of the number of licensed taxi operators in the Belfast Metropolitan Area (comprising Belfast City, Carrickfergus Borough, Castelreagh Borough, Lisburn City, Newtownabbey Borough and North Down Borough Council areas);

5) confirmation of the number of licensed taxi operators in the Belfast City area; and

6) for each operator:
a) the name and main depot address;
b) the number of vehicles registered to the operator; and
c) the number of drivers registered to the operator.
