DfI Roads and Rivers has a number of requirements throughout Northern Ireland for the ongoing servicing, maintenance and repair of all DfI Roads Horticultural Plant items currently maintained by both NIW and DfI Roads.

Term Contracts for Inspection & Maintenance of Underground Infrastructure 2020

DfI Roads & Rivers has the inspection and maintenance responsibility for approximately 365km of culverted underground infrastructure across Northern Ireland.  The Term Contracts for Inspection & Maintenance of Underground Infrastructure 2020 will include the following work activities:

  • Culvert survey work, approximately 40km per year, to update condition records for its culvert assets and to investigate ongoing drainage issues; and

  • Maintenance and repairs, to renovate the highest priority culvert repairs. The aim of renovation, through desilting or trenchless repairs, will be to achieve a revised culvert grade of 1, 2 or 3. Associated minor civil engineering works for access may also be required. 

In the following Contract Areas:

IMU1 - Greater Belfast area
IMU2 - Coleraine, Omagh and Fermanagh areas
IMU3 - Armagh and Lisburn areas
