In 2014 the Northern Ireland Executive tasked the Department to lead a number of bodies in the development of a Strategic Drainage Infrastructure Plan (SDIP) for Belfast. In response, DfI established the Living with Water Programme (LWWP), a multi-agency initiative headed by the Department.
