Scheme proposals

The proposed Order will provide for the construction, as part of an access linking the existing pedestrian facilities at the Gasworks Business Park, Ormeau Road to Ormeau Embankment, Belfast, of a bridge over the navigable waters of the River Lagan.

The River Lagan (Diversion of Navigable Watercourse and Extinguishment of Public Rights of Navigation) Order (Northern Ireland) 2015.

The Department for Infrastructure hereby gives notice in accordance with the provisions of Schedule 8 to the 1993 Order that it proposes to make an Order under Article 5 and 6 of that Order.

The proposed Order will provide for the diversion of part of the navigable watercourse and the extinguishment of any public rights of navigation over part of the navigable waters of the River Lagan in the vicinity of the Gasworks Business Park in relation to the proposed Lagan foot and cycle bridge.
