Planning Applications, Council Validation Checklists - Screening Form

The aim of the policy is to bring forward an amendment to Article 3 of the Planning (General Development Procedure) Order (NI) 2015 (GDPO) to provide councils with the authority to prepare and publish ‘local validation check-lists’, to address ‘poor quality’ or ‘incomplete applications entering the planning system. A Local Validation Checklist provides guidance about the level and type of information required to be submitted with a planning application, in order to provide a degree of certainty and clarity to assist applicants. The requirements should be proportionate to the nature and scale of the development proposal.
