M12, Portadown resurfacing – Monday 22 May to Monday 29 May closure

Date published: 18 May 2023

A carriageway resurfacing scheme on the M12, Portadown will commence on Monday 22 May 2023.

Road resurfacing

The works which will extend for a distance of approximately 0.4 kilometres will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the road and these works are expected to be completed by Monday 29 May 2023.

To allow for the completion of resurfacing work on the motorway it will be necessary to close one lane of the M12 roundabout and its approaches between 09.30 and 16.30 from Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 May 2023. In addition, a full road closure of M12 will be in operation from 19.00 on Friday 26 May 2023 until 06.00 on Monday 29 May 2023.

During these times, an alternative route will be signed with traffic being diverted via: M1 Junction 12 at A4 Dungannon Road, Portadown and M1 junction 10 at A76 Lough Road, Lurgan.

The Department has carefully planned these road works and associated traffic management arrangements in order to minimise inconvenience to the public. Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journey and to follow the alternative route which will be clearly signed on the approaches to the closure.

Completion of the work by 29 May 2023 is dependent on favourable weather conditions. The Department will keep the public informed of any change.
