Last month Minister for Infrastructure John O’Dowd outlined his commitment to progressing this significant scheme when he signed off on the publication of the draft Statutory Orders and the Environmental Impact Assessment Report.  He also announced that a public information event would be organised to keep the local community informed about progress with the scheme.

From 10.00 am to 10.00 pm on Tuesday 16 April anyone with an interest in the scheme can come along to The Burnavon in Cookstown where they will have the opportunity to meet with Departmental staff and the engineering consultants.  They can provide detail on work to date and the next steps in progressing the scheme.

The EIAR and draft Statutory Orders are available on the Department’s website at:  www.infrastructure-ni.gov.uk/articles/a29-cookstown-bypass-overview

The consultation period closes on Wednesday 29 May 2024.

The information and presentations on display at the Public Information Event will also be available to view online through a virtual room on the Department’s website from 16 April.
