Summary

Notice is hereby given that under Article 65 of the Road (NI) Order 1993, DFI-Roads proposes to provide traffic calming measures on Downshire Road, Carrickfergus, between the A2 Larne Road and Windermere Road, in order to control the speed of traffic.

Consultation description

The works will consist of –

3 x speed cushions across the carriageway at eight separate locations, which will be side tapered with each speed cushion measuring approximately 1.9 metres in width, 3.1 metres in length and 80 mm in height.

The speed cushions will be constructed in accordance with the Road Humps Regulations (NI) 1999.  All road markings and signage will be in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997.

A plan of the proposals may be inspected online, free of charge, before 9 August 2021.

Making an objection

Objections to these proposals may be made in writing to the Department for Infrastructure, via e-mail to dfiroads.northern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk  or via letter to the Department at the address below before 9 August 2021. All objections or other representations must specify the grounds on which they are made.
