Traffic Calming Scheme - Downshire Road, Carrickfergus

The works will consist of –

3 x speed cushions across the carriageway at eight separate locations, which will be side tapered with each speed cushion measuring approximately 1.9 metres in width, 3.1 metres in length and 80 mm in height.

The speed cushions will be constructed in accordance with the Road Humps Regulations (NI) 1999.  All road markings and signage will be in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997. 

Inspecting the proposal

A plan of the proposals may be inspected online, free of charge, before 9 August 2021.

Alternatively, the plan can be inspected in person by visiting the Department at the address below.  This is by appointment only which can be arranged either by email using the office email address dfiroads.northern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk or by telephone during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) on 028 7034 1300.

Making an objection

Objections to these proposals may be made in writing to the Department for Infrastructure, via e-mail to dfiroads.northern@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk  or via letter to the Department at the address below before 9 August 2021. All objections or other representations must specify the grounds on which they are made.
