Summary

The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled the Roads (Speed Limit) (No. 5) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023.

The Order will–

  • apply a 20 miles per hour speed limit to a length of Ballygittle Road, Killeen, Stewartstown;
  • apply a 40 miles per hour speed limit to a length of Scottstown Road, Ballymena; Branch Road and Harbour Road, Carnlough; Tullywiggan Road, Cookstown; Moneydig Road, Garvagh; Coast Road, Drains Bay, Larne;
  • The Order also revokes a number of speed limits so that a 30 miles per hour speed limit (restricted by street lighting) will apply to Moneydig Park, Garvagh and to lengths of Harbour Road, Carnlough; and Coast Road, Drains Bay, Larne.

Vehicles are excepted from the restrictions in certain circumstances.
