The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Parking Places (Disabled Persons’ Vehicles) (Amendment No. 10) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023.

Consultation description

The Order will create parking places with unlimited waiting at:

  • Belfast: Cliftonville Road in a lay-by in front of No. 100 (Apartment No. 3) and in a lay-by in front of No. 176, Cloghan Park in a lay-by in front of No. 22a, Clonduff Drive in front of No. 83, Edenvale Crescent in front of No. 27, Grays Lane in front of No. 57, Hesketh Park in front of No. 54, Nevis Avenue in front of No. 60, Riverview Street in front of No. 12, Stranmillis Gardens in front of No. 46 and York Road in a lay-by in front of No. 147;
  • Dundonald: Rank Road in a parking area to the rear of No. 4 Dunoon Park and Enler Park in a parking area in front of No. 21;
  • Enniskillen: Hillview Road in a parking area to the rear of No. 1 Hillview Park and No. 14 Hillview Road; (Re-Advertisement);
  • Gilford: Hillside in front of No. 2;
  • Larne: Killyglen Road in front of No. 76;
  • Londonderry: Academy Road in front of No. 7, Carnhill in a parking area to the rear of No. 290, Marlborough Road in front of No. 21, St Columbs Wells in a parking area to the rear of No. 8 and to the side of No. 16 (2 bays) and Westway in a parking area in front of Nos 16/18;
  • Newry: Well Lane in front of No. 7;
  • Rathfriland: Church Square in front of No. 15;
  • Warrenpoint: Ardallan Park in a parking area in front of No. 13 and Charlotte Street in front of No. 42.

The Order will amend the description of an existing bay at Clogher:

  • Station Road in front of No. 12.

The Order will also create a parking place with limited waiting Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. with waiting limited to 1 hour with no return to a parking place for 1 hour at:

  • Londonderry: Crawford Square in front of No. 8.

All parking places are for the use of disabled persons’ vehicles only.

Inspection of the draft Order is by appointment only which can be arranged either by e-mail using the relevant office e-mail address above or by telephone during office hours (Mon to Fri 9.00 am to 5.00 pm) on 0300 200 7899.

Any person may object or make other representations, specifying the grounds on which they are made, by writing or emailing the Department at the DfI Roads addresses above before 29 December 2023.
