The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make an Order entitled The Parking Places and Waiting Restrictions (Belfast) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2019.

Consultation description

The Order will—

  • authorise a length of Albertbridge Road for use as parking place and prescribe the conditions under which it may be used. Between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Saturday inclusive, parking will be limited to 2 hours with return to the parking place prohibited until 1 hour has expired.
  • authorise lengths of Townsend Street for use as parking places and prescribe the conditions under which they may be used. Between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Friday inclusive, parking will be limited to 4 hours with return to a parking place prohibited until 2 hours have expired.
  • introduce a no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of Ardenlee Green, Ballymacarrett Road, Boyne Court, Cooke Court, Cooke Mews, Cussick Street, Dundela Street, Dunville Street, Fraser Pass, Lavinia Square, Malone Road, Marmont Park, Mount Charles, Mount Charles Alleyway, Newtownards Road, Stonyford Street, Stranmillis Court, Swift Street and Townsend Street.
  • introduce a no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading not permitted) on lengths of Divis Street, Falls Road, Grosvenor Road, Stewartstown Road and Upper Newtownards Road.
  • introduce a no waiting restriction between 7.00 am and 7.00 pm Monday to Saturday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of College Avenue, East Bridge Street, Falls Road and Howard Street.
  • Introduce a no waiting restriction between 7.00 am and 7.00 pm Monday to Saturday inclusive (loading and unloading not permitted) on lengths of Albertbridge Road, Andersonstown Road and Stewartstown Road.
  • introduce a no waiting restriction between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm  Monday to Saturday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of Church Avenue, Paulett Avenue and Stonyford Street.
  • introduce a no waiting restriction  between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Friday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of Apollo Road, Cooke Court, Cooke Mews, Finn Square and Innes Place.
  • Substitute new descriptions for—
    • a no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading permitted) on a length of Cooke Court;
    • no waiting at any time restrictions (loading and unloading not permitted) on lengths of Andersonstown Road, Divis Street and Falls Road;
    • a no waiting restriction between 7.00 am and 7.00 pm Monday to Saturday inclusive (loading and unloading permitted) on Upper Newtownards Road; and
  • Replace a no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading permitted) with a no waiting at any time restriction (loading and unloading not permitted) on a length of Falls Road.

All in the City of Belfast.

Vehicles are excepted from the restrictions in certain circumstances.
